IT - making IT better for all of us
Dave the developer
Surf's flat so back to work. In charge of the programming backbone of our business, Dave is responsible for maintenance and development of the suite of software that both keeps investors up-to-date and enables the administrators to effect timely adjustments to portfolios.
Craig’s a big hit
Known as “the art of kicking and punching”, Tae kwon-do is excellent preparation for life on the GMI IT desk (or in Gareth’s security detail). Craig’s been enjoying punching and hitting things hard for 22 years now. We haven’t seen any martial arts action in the office yet, but the focus, precision, and discipline Craig brings to the development team are just the ticket for helping GMI punch above its weight in the investment industry.
Mr Suave
JP makes sure that our servers serve, our computers compute and our networks network. He also has the unenviable task of solving Gareth’s technical issues 10,000kms removed from the deepest Brazilian jungle – just climb a tree Gareth and you’ll get satellite reception. When he’s not providing round-the-clock technical support, JP is a fanatical follower of cricket, the Punjab Kings XI and Manchester United.
Mr unflappable Mike
Mike floats around in the back room looking at screens, tapping on keyboards to make sure the hum from those computers keeps the business up and running. Mike’s the one that comes in at nights and the weekend to keep those websites available to all. He’s mister unflappable; no matter how dire things sound Mike keeps his cool and rattles off a fix. He’s a bit of a speed freak but his best days as a boy racer are fading. Mike joined us straight from school and has demonstrated a remarkable ability to keep learning on the job. He’s becoming one of our living treasures – our longest serving employee.
