Roger gives the okay
Protecting portfolios from the devastation of speculative bubbles is a constant challenge for Roger, our senior client adviser. Recreationally, it's keeping the bubbles coming while steering clear of the reef sharks that keeps him in the swim.
Roger has been with GMI since 2003, seeing the business grow from 8 staff and managing some $150m of client savings, to 40+ staff managing $1.5bn. Prior to that he managed primarily fixed interest portfolios at ANZ Investments in both Wellington and Melbourne for 10 years. He is also a member of INFINZ (Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand Inc). Roger has a Masters Degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance, and has nearly 20 years financial markets experience.

Lauchie the running man
Lauchie left the rat race of London and joined the GMI Ops team in 2009. He has now run over to the Client Services team where he runs the ruler over many a retirement portfolio and advises clients that investing in markets is more like a marathon than a sprint.
Lauchie has more than six years’ experience in financial services and wealth management working with some of the biggest names in the industry including UBS, Forsyth Barr and Morgan Stanley. Lauchie has a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Canterbury and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment in Corporate Finance, Investment Analysis and Investment Management through the Australian Securities Institute. He has worked for firms in Australia and the United Kingdom and came home to New Zealand and joined GMI in 2009. He is based in our Auckland office.

Sumati - Poised to advise
Sumati Govind came to the GMI adviser team in April 2011 after seven years with the Todd Family Office, where she was the investment adviser for the Todd family. Prior to her appointment with the Todd Corporation she worked for more than 23 years at AMP Capital Investors, in several roles in the funds management company. She has an extensive background of over 31 years in the investment industry. Sumati has a Bachelor of Science degree (Mathematics) and a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (Financial Accounting) degree, both from Victoria University of Wellington.

Grandmaster Lance
Lance doesn't miss many opportunities to practice his tactical nous, whether it's on the chessboard, coaching his son's rugby and cricket teams over the years, or protecting the wealth of his clients.
Lance joins GMI after spending 11 years with AMP as a Business Development Manager in the Corporate Market. He has previously worked for CitiBank as a Business Manager and prior to that had a very successful career in the NZ Police. He has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Canterbury and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment through the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA). Lance is also a fellow of FINSIA.

Eliot serves it with a smile
With several years at GMI under his belt, there’s not much Eliot doesn’t know about the GMI business. Having cut his teeth in the KiwiSaver team and also as GMI’s digital marketer, Eliot’s move into the Client Advisers’ team was a natural progression. A degree in Marketing and International Business, coupled with his passion for finance and enviable knowledge of GMI makes him a great fit as our newest Client Adviser.

Keri is just the ticket
Born in South Africa, avid rugby fan Keri moved to New Zealand in 1999 and is still a fierce supporter of the Springboks. Here she is looking very pleased with her haul of tickets at the 2011 Rugby World Cup, clearly in happier times when the Springboks were still in the tournament…
Keri joined GMI from Kiwibank where she worked as a Wealth Adviser for over two years. Prior to this, Keri worked predominantly within the banking sector and has over 12 years’ experience in the financial services industry with Westpac New Zealand. Keri has a Graduate Diploma in Business from Massey University and is based in our Auckland office.
