Who We Are

Gareth Morgan Investments Limited Partnership (trading as 'GMI') is an investment management business established and directed by economists Gareth Morgan and Andrew Gawith. Gareth and Andrew founded economic forecasting company, Infometrics Ltd in 1983. They established GMI to service private investors who wanted personal and transparent management of their investments.

GMI also manages the investments for the Gareth Morgan KiwiSaver Scheme and the GMI Superannuation Scheme.

We have an in-house investment strategy team.

GMI is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated business.

Respect for clients

• We explicitly declare that we have a duty of care (fiduciary duty) to you.
• Our Private Portfolio service does not unitise or pool funds ensuring that clients retain clear ownership of their assets.
• The Gareth Morgan KiwiSaver Scheme is the only KiwiSaver Scheme that is GIPS (Global Investment Performance Standards) compliant. GIPS are an internationally recognised set of ethical principles and standards, aiming for full disclosure and fair representation of investment performance.

Transparency 

• Total 'see-through' to your account so that you can see exactly where we invest your money and you can verify the value of your securities and all transactions within your account.
• Transparency over the operation of the GMI Private Portfolios by a group of client representatives on an Assurance, Risk and Compliance Committee (ARCC); the trustee performs a similar oversight function for KiwiSaver and Superannuation Scheme members.

• Investment management limited to the conservative side of your investment direction to protect your wealth.
