Making Contributions to KiwiSaver
|
How employees make contributions
You make contributions via your employer who deducts either 3%, 4% or 8% of your gross salary and sends it to Inland Revenue with your PAYE deductions. Inland Revenue will transfer the money to your provider.
If you want to, you can also make additional voluntary payments directly to your GMK account by direct debit or cheque. Fill in a direct debit form. Download a lump sum payment form.
You can also make voluntary KiwiSaver contributions through Inland Revenue. Inland Revenue contribution options include electronic bank transfers, over-the-counter payments and cheque payments. Details here.

What about automatic payments, electronic banking and over-the-counter payments?
No problem, you just need to do it through Inland Revenue. They’re all set up to take KiwiSaver payments and they will pass them on to your provider. The instructions are on their website. Please read the whole page.
